David Berman to lead accessible design seminar at Design City
Universal (accessible) design consultant David Berman RGD, FGDC will bring his expertise to Design City 2012 where he'll be leading a day-long seminar entitled, The New Standard on Web Accessibility: WCAG 2.0. The seminar will be held on Monday, Nov. 19, 2012 during Design City at the Direct Energy Centre in Toronto. His seminar will cover how to comply with Ontario's new laws on accessibility and the WCAG 2.0 guidelines on access for disabilities.
Attendees to the seminar will have full access to the show floor during Design City's entire three-day run, Nov. 17-19. Design City is organized by Design Edge Canada.
Speaker, author, Design Edge blogger and the principal of Ottawa-based David Berman Communications, Berman has consulted both private and public sector clients on applying accessibility and standards to websites. His book Do Good Design (Pearson/Peachpit, 2009) is about how design can be used to create a more just world.
Design City 2012 will showcase the latest in design products and services. A show within a larger printing industry show, Print World 2012, attendees to Design City will be able to learn about the latest in printing effects and technology as well.
Seminar attendees can opt to buy a ticket just for the morning session. Depending on whether you attend for the entire day or just for the morning, seminar prices range from $354 to $649 (including snacks, lunch and show pass to both Design City 2012 and Print World 2012). The seminar runs between 9 am to 4:15 pm. Registered attendees can pick up their badges at show registration on Saturday and Sunday (if they wish to tour the show on the weekend) or on Monday morning at the seminar door.
